OK so the post title sounds dodgy. Nvm. Am brain dead and have been for the past 2 days. Neways, as you can see from the title, I'm back in Melbourne for the start of a brand new semester. Hopefully I won't fail as miserably this sem as I did the last one.
Everything was pretty much routine and uneventful as I boarded the Boeing 7*7 ( can't remember if its 747 or 777), or so I thought. Chyn and I made the most noise talking and laughing super loudly and when it was time for the in-flight entertainment I reached for my controller only to find that some smarty-pants had pulled the wire connecter for the 'phone' thingy! I couldn't control what was on my screen. I was like " &*%&^!!! 8 hours on a plane and NO in-flight entertainment??"
Soooo we called an air-stewardess and explained the situation to her ( that means I waved the controller about in the air with an incredulous look on my face. Actions speak louder than words.) At first she very apologetically told me that she couldn't do anything as the flight was very full and there were no extra seats. I was very tempted to say, "What, even the 1st class seats?" to see if she'd actually move me to 1st class. Later she returned to tell me that if i wanted to watch movies I can go to the very back of the plane where the air-stewardess' seats were.
And since a person can't possibly survive 8 hours on a night-flight without in-flight entertainment (it's not a matter of whether you watch the shows. It's a matter of whether you HAVE shows to watch IF you wish to do so) I decided to migrate to the back. I went with my pillow, blanket and handbag and received lots of looks from other passengers who were wondering why in the world is this weird girl going to the bathroom with a pillow and blanket.
3 movies and 2 meals later, I had migrated back to my seat and was preparing for landing when suddenly the head steward walked up, leaned over and gave me a bottle of champagne! I was thoroughly surprised when he told me it was complimentary from MAS since I had so much trouble with my seat. I was very happy and told Ah Ma that I'm surprised that MAS actually did such stuff for their passengers. Then she told me that it is to avoid getting complaints from disgruntled passengers -such a cynical girl!! Haha..
P/s: I actually wrote this 1 week ago when I 1st arrived in Melbourne. I've been too busy to complete it and now I have! wheeee!!
P/ss: HAPPY CHINESE NEW YEAR everyone!!!
