I went to an Indian restaurant called Gaylord on Tattersalls Lane today. Even though the name was a bit dodgy and the decor a bit hardcore (Hardcore Indian, that is), I found the whole experience totally exciting!
1. The Food
The food was great! Much better than Bismi's in the city (The Goldan Fork one..). I especially liked the chicken curry and the naans, but the tandoori chicken could be better. The mango lassi was especially good since they forgot to bill us for it! *cue evil laughter*
2. The Ambience
Very Indian decor, with tapestries on the walls and loudly coloured carpet (Think bright red and orange), with Indian stainless steel bowls and cutlery (So nice to eat food out of 'authentic' Indian tableware) even though most Indians eat using their hands.
3. The Service
Not too good as there were many patrons and very few waiters. We had to call the waiters a few times just to find out when our food is coming, but there's an upside to everything! ^_^ as you shall see in...
4. The Bill
They undercharged us! They did not take into account the cost of the 8 glasses of mango lassi (each AUD$ 4.50) so all of us had a free drink courtesy of them being so busy! And Yong Yi, being the "nice and honest" guy he is, elected not to tell them (nor us) of the discrepancy and only told us after we're well away from the restaurant. Not that I'm complaining, of course! hehe..This should teach restaurant owners to hire too little waiters for an entire restaurant! (Happened to me when I worked as a waitress >.< not good!)
So all in all, I had a nice dinner with nice people = fun!
