Bitter

That bitter pill, so difficult to swallow,
Chokes in your throat,
Depresses the spirits,
Clouds your judgement,
Dims the sunshine


That acidic feeling,
Eating away at you,
Makes you throw up your hands,
and say "I can't do this anymore!"

I am angry!
But I have to choke it back,
Pretending nothing happened
To save something I'm not sure
Is worth saving.

Is this the way it's going to be,
For the rest of my days?
